Electrical maintenance
Commercial electrical maintenance
Planned maintenance, inspection, testing and repairs that keep commercial electrical installations safe, compliant and reliable.
The problem
The problem behind the problem
In a busy commercial building the electrical installation is easy to forget until something trips. Circuits get added during fit-outs, distribution boards fill up, labelling drifts out of date and small defects are left for another day.
United Prompt Solutions provides planned electrical maintenance for offices, hotels, universities, hospitals, museums and laboratories. We find defects before they cause downtime, keep records up to date and fix what needs fixing.
Scope
What we do
- 01
Planned preventative maintenance
Scheduled checks of distribution boards, switchgear, containment and final circuits with a clear scope and report.
- 02
Inspection and testing
Periodic inspection and testing of fixed installations, with defects prioritised and explained in plain language.
- 03
Remedial works
Clearing observations from inspection reports and correcting defects found during maintenance visits.
- 04
Distribution boards and circuits
Board replacements, additional circuits, circuit protection upgrades and accurate circuit charts.
- 05
Reactive call-outs
A responsive team for electrical faults that affect tenants, guests, patients or critical equipment.
- 06
Records and handover
Up-to-date schedules, test results and notes, so the next engineer knows exactly what they're working on.
How we work
How we approach it
- 01
Look at what's really installed
Existing plant, controls, wiring, documentation and operating conditions, not just what the drawings say.
- 02
Find the underlying cause
Trend data, field testing and cross-trade fault finding to separate symptoms from causes.
- 03
Recommend the smallest fix that works
Repair, recommissioning, programming, integration or a staged upgrade. Replacement only when it's justified.
- 04
Deliver, verify and document
Changes tested against the original problem, with records the next person can follow.
FAQ
Common questions
Can't find what you're looking for? Contact our team.
How often should a commercial electrical installation be inspected?
It depends on the building type, how it's used and the recommendation on the last report. Many commercial premises are inspected every few years, with some environments inspected more often. We'll check your last report and advise on a sensible interval.
Can you work around our occupants?
Yes. Much of our work is in occupied offices, hotels and hospitals. We plan shutdowns and isolations in advance, work out of hours where needed, and keep disruption to a minimum.
Do you only maintain installations you put in?
No. Most of our maintenance work is on installations fitted by others. We start by understanding what's there and bringing the records up to date.
